Happy summer from the Youth BIOlab! Our availability and booking calendar for the 2022-2023 school year will be available on August 29th. We look forward to returning to in-lab activities with full classes with our partnered school divisions and will continue to offer online activity options too! Please check back at the end of August for updates and any COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming school year. Enjoy your holidays!

Meet a Scientist!

Scientists are just curious people!

Join Steve, Meghan, and Anjelica as they virtually interview scientists from St. Boniface Hospital Research from students to lab directors! Learn why they became interested in health science, how they got to where they are now, what they’re working on, and how they might help people stay healthy.

These 20-30 minute interviews were recorded during the 2020-2021 school year.

Infectious Diseases

Meet Dr. Grant Pierce, Former Executive Director of Research at St. Boniface Hospital, professor and scientist at the Albrechtsen Research Centre. Grant shares his perspective on science after many years in cardiovascular research.

Short Long Term Sympt

Meet Dr. Ben Albensi from the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders. Ben is a good friend of the Youth BIOlab, and always has interesting things to share on the science of memory and Alzheimer’s disease.

Immune Systems
